Turning practical challenges into workable solutions.
I am an Electrical and Electronics Engineer, IT professional, digital skills trainer, entrepreneur, consultant and mentor. My work brings together technology, process improvement, capacity building and business experience to help people and organisations address practical challenges.
I am an Electrical and Electronics Engineer, IT professional, digital skills trainer and entrepreneur with experience across public service, technology, training and business.
I joined the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in 2001 as a Broadcast Engineer and moved into IT in 2007. I currently serve as Deputy Director, IT, and have previously been Head of ICT. I designed and deployed digital reporting processes using Google Forms and Google Sheets to support performance reporting across NTA network zones.
For well over 15 years I have trained and mentored interns, students on industrial attachment and NYSC members in research, presentation and workplace skills.
Alongside my career, I run StyleCentric by Laura Onigbode, a fashion brand, and developed the ABC of Ready-to-Wear Masterclass, an online programme available since 2020 that over 500 learners have taken. I also developed the READY™ Growth System, a structured consulting and mentoring framework for fashion entrepreneurs.
I am interested in practical applications of AI for problem-solving, business improvement and content development, applying tools purposefully to real needs rather than for their own sake.
Solutions should be practical, purposeful and capable of making a meaningful difference.
Practical solutions for people, businesses and organisations.
Reviewing information flows and work processes, then helping identify and implement suitable digital tools to improve collection, organisation, reporting and analysis.
Applying AI tools thoughtfully to explore solutions, support content and knowledge work, and improve selected business tasks. The focus is practical, fit-for-purpose use, not AI engineering.
Supporting entrepreneurs with business clarity, product positioning, pricing, marketing, planning and implementation. Signature programmes include the READY™ Growth System and the ABC of Ready-to-Wear Masterclass.
Practical training and mentoring to build digital confidence, workplace capability, research, presentation and other professional skills.
Designed and deployed digital reporting forms to collect performance information from network zones and support consolidation and analysis for national evaluation. The process improved information transmission, reduced reliance on physical document delivery and courier costs, and made reports easier to consolidate and analyse.
AI tools supported problem analysis and solution exploration; the core implementation used Google Forms and Google Sheets.
An engagement focused on business clarity and stronger foundations for sustainable growth: differentiating bespoke, ready-to-wear and bulk orders; customer segmentation and positioning; marketing messages and content; pricing, costs and profit; discount and bundle decisions; AI-assisted content creation; and production capacity, order management and delivery timelines.
Pricing was a major focus, helping the client separate expenses from profit and see the room available for discounts and bundles. A 90-day follow-up plan supports implementation and review.
Worked with four fashion entrepreneurs on practical steps towards preparing and launching a collection. By the end of the 30 days, one participant had launched a collection and the other three had progressed to different stages of preparation and launch readiness.
Lessons from Cohort 1 shaped the development of READY™, including more structured implementation, daily business assets and mentor-led progress reviews.

Award
As Founder and CEO of StyleCentric Technologies, Laura developed and submitted a business plan that won Second Prize in the 2024 Annual Solar Business Plan Competition for Innovation in the Renewable Energy Sector, organised under the Regional Off-Grid Electricity Access Project (ROGEAP). The proposed solution addressed energy challenges faced by fashion entrepreneurs across West Africa through a three-tier approach built around renewable energy and solar equipment. The prize was US$5,000.
I welcome opportunities to collaborate with organisations, businesses, development initiatives and individuals seeking practical solutions. Whether you are exploring a consulting engagement, planning a training programme, seeking a mentor or considering a collaboration, I would be pleased to hear from you.
